Home care can fit many situations, allowing loved ones to enjoy life more by continuing to live at home safely.
Light Housekeeping Support
Dad’s amazing. He’s so independent, he’s still so active at his age. But even he admits that taking care of the big old house takes a lot out of him. If he could have just a few hours of support each day, just to take some of the routine chores off his shoulders, he’ll be able to live happily and safely at home for a lot longer.
Respite Care
I’ve been taking care of Mom for over a year now. Visiting every day, buying groceries, taking care of household chores, taking her to get her hair done, doctor visits…I’m not complaining. I love my Mother and I want to be there for her now that she needs me. But…I just can’t do it all. I have so little time left for my own family. My kids are still in school and they need me too. If I could just get a little break, maybe someone to help with Mom for just a few hours a week, I could make this work.
Recovery Care
The doctors say Dad’s outlook is good. But for the first month or so after he comes home from the hospital, they warn he will be able to do very little for himself. I can’t take off work for that long, but he’s really not ready to move to assisted living. His home means so much to him, and he should be able to take care of himself again in a few months.
Live-In Care
Mom needs to stay at home as long as possible. Like a favorite sweater, everything is comfortable and familiar. And I know any change in her environment would be a huge adjustment. But she needs a lot of support; someone really needs to be there every day. We know she’ll be happiest at home. We just need to figure out how to take care of her daily needs and keep her safe.
